An NABC certified bird banding class will be held in Mexico, in Quintana Roo, (near Cancun) from July 30 to August 3th 2018. Topics will include things needed to know to run a banding station including, ethics, handling,
traps, equipment, and permits.
Possible species include Black Catbird, Rose throated Tanager, Gray-breasted Chat, Myiarchus spp., including Yucatan, Wrens (including White-bellied, White-browed, Spot-breasted and more), Seedeaters, Clay-colored Thrush, and surprises... Only tropical species are expected, with young and adults, so a great opportunity to see skull ossifcation, understand molt process, and practice with different species.
Cost for the training includes local transportation, housing, food, trainers, material is $235 usd.
